Putting the Laughter back into Slaughter
Gaming is something people do to relax, to get out. But far to often this passtime ends in frustration.
The entire Gaming scene has built up a negative reputation of being immature and disrespectful.
Having fun starts by respecting each other. Age, sex, race, type, ... Everything dissapears when you log into a server.
In this virtual place, everybody looks the same. The only thing that sets you appart from the others, is your behaviour.
The amount of respect you recieve does not depend on your ability to frag others. Skillfull players who do nothing but brag and boast about their skills,
are looked down upon. Respect the people you play with, they provide you with the fun you are having. And so do you to them.
Multiplayer games are multiplayer. And whenever you do something together with other people, you have to take them into account. Play together, play nice.
What we are trying to accomplish here, is creating an enviroment that cultivates this mutual respect. A place people can come to without having people yelling noob at them every time someone shoots them, or they shoot someone.
some general tips:
-People are quick to insult. Try to complement each other when they preform good. somebody headshots you from the other side of the map: dont go yelling cheater. Instead complement him on his aim. He wil earn his respect.
-If you keep getting shot, dont blame everything and everybody besides yourself. Getting better begins with accepting your mistakes.
-If you keep killing a player, dont rub it in, instead give him/her tips on how to play better, tell them where they are going wrong. This way, they will improve, and so will you.
