A few years ago, Apple brought us the iPod. An mp3-player with a cool design, a click wheel and 20 gigabyte of storage.
After a while new types came out like the iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano. And you could view photos, and even movies, with it. Also, a bunch of iPod gadgets came out.
Now, iPod gives us the Apple iPhone ! You can call people, listen to music, and surf on the internet.
All this in a neat design, just like we expect from Apple.
The iPhone is just like the iPod, you don't push the buttons, but you tap 'em. If you want to call someone, you just need to tap on his number or his name. You can quickly merge calls together so you can make conference calls.
iPhone has Visual Voice mail. That means you can immediately go to a message you want to hear, without listening to prior messages, quite handy.
Also writing SMS becomes easier. iPhone includes a QWERTY keyboard that correct mistakes. Just tap on it, it should be better to use than the little plastic keyboards on many mobile phones.
The iPhone has a 2 mega pixel camera, so you can make nice photos, and send them to friends by e-mail. You can also sync photos from your PC to your iPhone, and have a look at them on a 3.5 inch wide screen-display. The same with movies and songs, sync 'em & watch/listen 'em. Of course it has the standard controls like play, pause, forward & backward, and volume control.
"Internet in your pocket". It's true ! With Safari you can view webpages the way they were designed to be. You can zoom in and zoom out if you tap on the display. The iPhone also holds e-mail and some easy widgets that give you information like stock reports, weather forecasts and more...
A special YouTube player was built for the iPhone, so you can check videos wherever you are. If you want to send a video to your friends, it makes an e-mail with the link in it.
With his multi-touch display, OS X, sensors, and beautiful design, the iPhone is going to get even more famous than the iPod. The phone is already available in the US, in Europe it should be in stores around the end of this year, but it's possible that that only is for the big European countries. For Belgium, probably 2008.
