Only, recently, the tease has grown old, wrinkly and weary, and wants to retire... 3D Realms is pulling the plug.
That's right, Shacknews got a hint from a reliable source near 3D Realms, that the developer is done, and everyone involved is already fired. This has now been confirmed by Joe Siegler, their webmaster. This seems to have been decided quite fast, as nobody expected it until the day before the curtain fell... As little as one month ago, George Broussard, CEO of 3D Realms, said the team had achieved a milestone in the development of DNF, and their were only 71% hurdles left to be taken.
Spin off games by Apogee and Deep Silver are not affected by this and will continue their Duke Nukem games.
