Medal Of Honour Airborne

After a disappointing Medal of honor Pacific assault, the WW2 series is back. Maybe you think: Oh no! Yet again, a WW2 game but this one is quite different. You play as a soldier from the 82nd Airborne division and you will be dropped over occupied Europe. The best known action is probably the drop in the night of the invasion at Normandy on the 6th of June 1944 better known as D-Day.

Airborne goes deeper in on the action that the Airborne divisions have done in ww2, one of them better known as Operation Market Garden in Nijmegen at September 1944. For those who know a bit about the war, you will know that that mission wasn't a success.
But you will get a second chance. Normally you get an intro movie showing you how you jump down, and land. In this game you jump yourself, and steer to where ever you want to land. Depending on your landing location, the mission will require a different approach. Using this device, Aiborne differs itself from the traditional games where you have to go from A to B, in a really linear play style.

The game is visually appealing, mostly due to the Unreal Engine 3 that is under the hood. The game plays very smooth. Loading times are not as long as Half-Life:episode 2, and the missions are not that difficult either. Whether the game is long? I can't answer that yet as i am still playing it, but this one is worth spending your hard earned cash.

The multiplayer is not as great as the single player, for starters, the minimum specs for running a dedicated server are ridiculous, what sort of dedicated server has a directx supported graphics card?
No dedicated servers on release, and every server needs a EA account and there is no linux server either. But the patch 1.1 solves some problems like the possibility to play on a dedicated server. My two cents, if you like a good WW2 game this one won't disappoint you. Setting up your own server looks like it won't be as easy + I can imagine renting servers will not be cheap too.
